Nova 100

Nova 100 (call sign: 3MEL) is a commercial radio station in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, broadcasting on 100.3 MHz.
The station is owned by NOVA Entertainment with a sister station smoothfm 915, which share the same studio location on Level 2, 678 Victoria St, Richmond VIC.
==History==
Nova 100 commenced on the Melbourne airwaves on Monday 3 December 2001 with Kate Langbroek being the first voice heard on the station. It was the first new commercial radio station in Melbourne for 21 years.
The station is a major player in the Melbourne radio market, challenging the Southern Cross Austereo station Fox FM for the number one market position playing alternative, hip hop, pop & dance music, with a strong lean towards new music. However, in recent years it has failed to offer much competition, failing to come close to Fox FM in the ACNielsen ratings.
''Hughesy, Kate & Dave'' was the inaugural breakfast show with Dave Hughes, Kate Langbroek and Dave O'Neil. Dave O'Neil later resigned and moved to Vega 91.5 in July 2006. Both Dave Hughes and Kate Langbroek remained with the station until November 2013. In December 2013, Meshel Laurie and Tommy Little replaced Dave Hughes and Kate Langbroek with their new show ''Meshel & Tommy''.
In November 2015, Nova announced that Chrissie Swan, Jonathan Brown and Sam Pang will host breakfast in 2016 after Meshel Laurie and Tommy Little announced that they would be leaving the station. ''Chrissie, Sam & Jonathan'' will commence in January 2016.
In 2010, Nova announced that it would remove their policy of "never more than two ads in a row" by increasing the number of ads broadcast per hour from 12 to 21 during the peak times of breakfast and drive.
Along with its sister stations Nova 969 Sydney, Nova 106.9 Brisbane, Nova 91.9 Adelaide and Nova 93.7 Perth, Nova claims to be Australia's leading under 40s brand.〔("Nielsen Media Research Radio Results" ). Online at the (Nielsen Media Website ). Retrieved on 18 September 2007.〕
